A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Katherine is thrilled to be in Music City and working at Vanderbilt.  An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), she especially enjoys doing discernment with individuals around questions of vocation and ministerial formation.  Prior to arriving at Vanderbilt, Katherine served as Director of the Duke Youth Academy for Christian Formation in Durham, NC and as Managing Director of Princeton Project 55, Inc. (now AlumniCorps) in Princeton, NJ.   In her free time, Katherine enjoys running, reading, travel, and sampling Nashville's amazing cuisine!  Katherine and her husband, Bart Smith, Director of the National Commodore Club and Vanderbilt Athletics Development, have been married since 2007.  They have one daughter, Eleanor, and are expecting a second daughter in July 2013.
